 FOOTHILLS REGIONAL EMS AWARDED CLINICAL CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

The Foothills Regional Emergency Services Commission (FRESC) has recently been recognized as a Clinical Center of Excellence by Professional Medical Associates. “This recognition is due to the commitment of Foothills Regional EMS in the training and education of future Paramedics and EMTs” stated James Habstritt, PMA’s Chief Executive and Program Director. “FREMS has maintained high quality patient care techniques and has willing shared these advancements with our students” added Habstritt, "it is an honor and privilege to be provided this opportunity to acknowledge the excellence shown by the preceptors of FRESC that work to ensure students receive excellent educational experiences."

The award was presented at the recent Alberta Ambulance Operator’s Association Annual General Meeting and was presented to the Commission officially at their regular May meeting. “Foothills Regional EMS is proud of the partnership that we have developed with Professional Medical Associates.” “Our staff voluntarily provides practical training for these students and this reflects strongly on the organization and the industry” stated the Executive Director of the Commission, Darren Sandbeck. “Our staff continue to research, develop and utilize the most current patient care techniques, and pass this knowledge on to students,” added Sandbeck

The Foothills Regional Emergency Services Commission provides Advanced Life Support EMS services to the M.D. of Foothills, the Towns of High River, Okotoks, Nanton, Black Diamond, Turner Valley and the Village of Longview. It also supplies 911 Call Answer Dispatch services to these municipalities and thirteen other municipalities under contract.

Professional Medical Associates is a Canadian Medical Association accredited educational institution. They provide EMR, EMT and Paramedic training from facilities in St. Albert and Calgary and have worked with Foothills Regional Emergency Services Commission since PMA's inception in 1996.
