First Aid Background

Professional Medical Associates provides 4 different programs to meet the needs of all clients. PMA also offers specialized first aid courses, the first of them being Pediatric First Aid and the other being Sports First Aid. More details.

Basic First Aid (Emergency First Aid)

This 8 hour program prepares graduates with the basic skills required when called upon to act in a medical emergency. The course provides graduates with information they need to control the situation and provide care until Emergency Medical Services personnel arrive. Program includes student manuals, practical sessions, and includes HeartSaver level CPR. The program offers an excellent opportunity for the entire office or family. More details.

Basic Plus First Aid (Standard First Aid)

This 16 hour ( 2 day) program prepares the graduates with the essential skills required to protect and support the life of a suddenly injured ill person and provide care until Emergency Medical Services personnel arrive. The course offers graduates the opportunity to practice in role-playing scenarios - increasing their confidence in their ability to deal with an emergency. The program meets content requirements for education or employment at the Standard First Aid level. Program includes student manuals, practical sessions and also includes HeartSaver plus two rescuer level CPR. More details.

Sports Emergency First Aid

Sports Emergency First Aid is an 8 hour course offering a complete CPR/First Aid training course that makes coaches, parents and athletes at the non-professional level more aware of the positive aspects of prevention, initial care and rehabilitation of injured athletes. Program includes trainer's first aid kit with supplies, manuals, and HeartSaver CPR. More details.

Pediatric Emergency First Aid

This 8 hour program focuses on basic emergency care of infants and children. The student gains an understanding in prevention of injuries and training in skills needed to recognize and respond to childhood emergencies. The program is specifically directed toward parents, grandparents, and others who need primary skills and knowledge in childhood injuries and illnesses.
